There she's standing in a field of lights...

I have exams to study for. So naturally, instead of hitting the books I thought I'd hit up the blog :) But before you point any fingers (procrastinator? I don't know what you're talking about) Understand that you benefit from this! So keep the judgment to yourself..

Greetings from Electric Daisy Carnival!

A Love Story About Trees

7.19.2011

taking my talents to the clubs of south beach

todays topic:
The big 3.
And no I'm not about the Heat or the Celtics (screw Boston!)
I'm talking about the 3 new names in house music that everybody should be following. If you've left your house in 2011, chances are you've heard some of these tracks before. You may have even thought "HOT DAMN! Who dis track be from??"

Or not.
Regardless, I take my job as an Electronic Music Educator very seriously. So enjoy todays lesson kids, and stop beating up on that skinny kid in the playground. Gingers have feelings too.

(1)
Quintino.
He was discovered by Laidback Luke 8 years ago, but his big breakthrough came with his 2009 remix of Rap Das Armas (give it a listen below, I bet you've heard it before). He's been quickly rising to fame since, especially with his latest Afrojack collaborations (SELECTA!!). In 2010 Quintino founded his own label- SupersoniQ Records, and has been transforming parties into ragers with his amazing energy ever since.
Quintino & Afrojack - Let Me See You Dance

Quintino - Raider

Quintino & Alvaro - Can You Feel It

Quintino & Apster - Music Oh

Cidinho & Doca - Rap Das Armas [Quintino RMX]

Quintino - Sustain

(2)
Alesso.
I fell in love with Alesso at Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel earlier this year, when they dropped his Nillionaire [see below, then proceed to jam] immediately after taking the stage. At only 18 years old, Alesso is like a mini-Sebastien-Ingrosso-in-the-making. Since being signed to Sebs label, Refune, Alesso has been cranking out explosive hits faster than his Swedish buddies ever imagined. At this rate, I wouldnt be surprised if he took over the progressive house scene within the next 5 years.

Alex Kenji, Starkillers, Nadia Ali - Pressure [Alesso RMX]

Swedish House Mafia - Save The World [Alesso RMX]

LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem [Alesso RMX]

Alesso - Nillionaire

Tim Berg - Alcoholic [Alesso Taking It Back RMX] <- maybe you recognize the name Tim Berg? he also goes by Avicii :)

(3)
Bassjackers.
And now we get more Dutch magic in the form of Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst... aka Bassjackers. They've been in the game longer than Quintino & Alesso, but still rising faster than anyone would have imagined. The duo came together in 2007 and immediately got attention from Fedde Le Grand and Don Diablo with their first track. They were also partially responsible for the Quintino remix of “Rap Das Armas”, which they all co-produced together (small world eh?). Every major DJ has some Bassjackers secret weapons in their repertoire, ready to blow up the dance floor... lets see if you recognize a couple:

Bassjackers - Mush Mush

Bassjackers & Apster - Brougham

Sidney Samson - Lets Go [Bassjackers RMX]

FNA - Take Me Home Tonight [Bassjackers RMX]

Rihanna - California King Bed [Bassjackers RMX]

Apster & Bizzy - Moanin [Bassjackers RMX]

Moby - Lie Down In Darkness [Bassjackers RMX]

and thats it for the day- SCHOOLS OUT! Time to hotbox in the parking lot!
