The 15 Hottest Tracks From UMF'12

There's no doubt that this years Winter Music Conference was one of the most crowded Miami has ever scene. With Ultra alone pulling 165,000 people, the city was absolutely teeming with energy. Here's a quick run down of UMF and the hottest tracks played... Feel free to live through us vicariously.

This year brought the 14th Ultra Music Festival back to its old location, Downtown's Bayfront Park. While the overall production was mind-blowing and the lineup impressive, Bayfronts layout was awful and did not lend well to a music festival of Ultra's size. The Carl Cox/ASOT tent was nowhere near big enough, the BAO dome was consistently drowned out by the music from the Main stage. Dance space around the park was obstructed by trees and sharp hills.

One of Ultra's greatest accomplishments would be UMFTV, a free live stream that brought the experience to EDM fans all around the world. Personally I would give the best stage award to Annie Mac Presents (Worldwide stage). With talent like Nadastrom, Gesaffelstein, Brodinski and Dillon Francis, the stage was a non-stop dance party and breath of fresh air from the sweaty masses.

On Sunday, Armin Van Buuren hosted the 550th episode of A State Of Trance, his weekly trance radio show. The ASOT550 lineup brought us trance legends like Sander Van Doorn, Gareth Emory, and ATB- all of which delivered beautiful sets. It was as if the tent had a soul, and strangers became unified as they all danced to the same heartbeat.
