Out of all the dance music genres, I feel like Minimal gets the least amount of love over here in the states. But having to been to Berlin (aka the minimal capital of the world) twice, it's really become one of my favorite genres. Why? Because it's not just about the music. It's about the vibe given off in the club between the DJ and the, and that's just pretty hard to explain until you've experienced it yourself. But here are some of my favorite tracks to get you grooving until you do.
Emrah Celik - Let's get Dangerous (Original Mix)
The Cube Guys - Scarcube (Landmark Scarface Remix)
Joe Maker - Minimal Female (Alex Young Cirkus Remix)
One huge artist in this genre is Paul Kalkbrenner, who has had a huge following in Berlin after releasing his film, Berlin Calling, which is a film about a DJ's crazy life in the Berlin club scene. Here are a few tracks from him and his soundtrack.
Paul & Fritz Kalbrenner - Sky and Sand (Original Mix)
KC LOVE: I'm addicted to music. Whether I'm floating around a music festival or dancing on club couches, you can always count on me to be surrounded by the most bangin' beats :) NAPALM: From minimal to moombah, I've got you covered. Seriously though, if you can't find me during MMW, just check a couple of the pools, okay? if you have any suggestions or if any of these songs are yours (i'll take them down), just let me know: kamores08@gmail.com.
